Membership

If you are interested in VCSAR, and have these qualities:

  • - You are in reasonable physical condition
  • - At least 18 years of age
  • - Can live up to a member's committment in terms of giving of some of your time
.......then you may be a good candidate for our team! 



Vulcan County Search and Rescue expects that its members make the following committments to the organization and the people of the community:

  • - Members attend meetings on a regular basis
  • - Members attend all training sessions in order to maintain at least the minimum standard of competence in required skills.
  • - Members accept that at times, they may be required to pay a minimal charge for texts, registration for training courses, etc.
  • - All persons applying for membership in VCSAR may be subject to a criminal record check.
  • - Members are required to pay $25.00 in dues annually.
  • - Members provide the necessary personal equipment which meets SAR standards and guidelines to equip their ready packs , and
  • - Members participate in social and fundraising functions in order that they contribute to an effective and cohesive team.

 


About VCSAR

Vulcan County Search and Rescue believes that volunteers play a vital role in search and rescue operations. Volunteers with very diverse backgrounds donate hundreds of hours per year to train, search and promote our organization. Our goals are to have each member be fully trained in Standard First Aid, map and compass/GPS navigations, survival skills, Alzheimer's patient behavior, evidence handling and much more.
