Changes and updates will be made as often as possible, thanks to Kelly Kobe, CALSARA (Dep Dir South Central Region). To view, see www.saralberta.org Why SAR people DO what they do..... ** excerpt from June 10th, 2008 Calgary Sun; 'YELLOW ANGELS' I'd like to thank the Calgary Search and Rescue group. Although I have never been in direct need of their services, I am comforted by the thought of people so committed to a job they receive no compensation. After watching 30 or more members pile out of their vehicles and begin searching in the middle of the night in the rain, I realized I'd never heard anything about them! ("Cops say weather a factor in death," June 9.) My daughter joined me and after explaining why they were wandering around our neighbourhood, she said these people were like "Yellow Angels." Aptly put. Heroes like these folks are rare! Not only am I refreshed to see some human compassion in this city, I have found a worthy cause to donate to! A. Warren (Worthy indeed.) **Looking for new recruits!!! If you are interested in a very rewarding way to volunteer your time, please check us out - All are welcome to attend one of our meetings to see what we are all about. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month, in the meeting room in the lower level of the Vulcan Legion.** Hope to see you there! Website Last Updated: October 1st, 2008 ![]() ![]()
